Release notes

What changed in each release of VoidNotch.
0.17.2 2026-10-31
Agent wiring uses a new relay name, and you can review the plan in privacy mode
- The agent hook relay is renamed to voidnotch-agent-relay.sh. After updating, Claude, Codex or Hermes still pointing at the old name show Not connected in Settings › Alerts › Agent Wiring; Connect all pending agents rewrites them to the new path in place, keeping their order and timeout without adding a second copy.
- Fix: re-wiring Claude no longer moves the AskUserQuestion answer hook to the end; it keeps its place among your other hooks.
- In privacy mode the wiring plan first shows a summary without paths; Show details reveals the full plan in that window only, so you can check it before confirming without turning privacy mode off.
- Device cleanup shows a spinner on the button and status bar while deleting, so long deletions visibly keep going.
0.17.1 2026-10-26
Fix Claude quota refresh getting stuck after a failed fetch
- After a temporary fetch failure, a later background refresh can recover Claude quota without restarting VoidNotch.
- Claude Desktop, web and Claude Code on the same account share subscription quota; local token and cost history covers Claude Code only and has no per-app breakdown.
0.17.0 2026-10-23
Agent Attention becomes an inbox, and each notification channel has one switch
- Fix: on Macs without a notch (iMac, external displays), an answer card closed after the first click, so multi-select and multi-question cards could not be finished. You can now pick several options and then submit.
- The Agent Attention window is now just the inbox: one row for search, Active/Complete history and a Filter menu; system warnings collapse to one line; each list row is two lines. Its tab bar is no longer hidden under the title bar on iMac.
- Each item opens with a Next step: answer here, handle it in the terminal, or just read it.
- Items clear on their own: when the same session does something new, earlier notices are marked handled; otherwise they move to Complete history after 24 hours. Mark All as Handled clears them in one go.
- Notification settings moved to Settings › Alerts › Agent Notifications. Sound, read-aloud and system notifications each have a single switch: sound on the Sound page, read-aloud on the Speech page, system notifications on Agent Notifications. Whether VoidNotch made sound before the update stays the same.
- Schedule now lists the wired Hermes, Codex and Claude agents' own scheduled tasks (read-only).
- Cleanup adds an Exclusions list for files or folders you never want cleaned, and protects scheduled jobs' logs automatically. The browser tab can remove old Chrome, Edge and Brave versions left after auto-updates (off by default).
- Settings use grouped cards with larger type, and Agent Wiring has one button per row.
- From 0.15.1 you can upgrade with the in-app updater. Versions 0.15.0 and earlier need one manual download from this site.
0.16.1 2026-10-21
Notch panel tabs show their full names
- The five notch panel tab names are no longer cut off. English tabs now read Usage, Agents and Schedule, the Chinese Agent tab is shortened, and tab padding is slightly tighter. The schedule widget keeps its title.
- The Floating Gauge live preview in Settings now uses generic sample projects such as my-app, website and api-server.
- Licence server fix: reinstalling on the same Mac or entering your licence key again now reuses that Mac's existing activation instead of taking another slot. The fix is on the server, so it applies to every installed version.
0.16.0 2026-10-21
Token stats with charts, reset credit redemption, and a larger settings window
- New Token stats under Providers › All Providers: five cards show tokens and cost for today, yesterday, this month, the last 3 months and all time, with each date range. Data comes from the local daily archive and currently covers Claude and Codex.
- Token stats now has charts: a daily stacked bar chart colored by provider, switchable between 30 and 90 days, and an all-time share donut with each provider's percentage and token count. The title row switches between Charts and the By provider table.
- New Reset credits tab for Codex and Claude: lists your available rate-limit reset credits with description, expiry and remaining count. Reset now always asks for confirmation first, and quotas refresh after a redemption.
- The settings window grows from 820×520 to 1000×680, and charts, axis labels and numbers grow with it. Every tab still fits on one screen.
- Lower background work for agent status: the pending list and session rows are no longer recomputed when no event has changed.
- From 0.15.1 you can upgrade to 0.16.0 with the in-app updater. Versions 0.15.0 and earlier need one manual download from this site.
0.15.1 2026-10-16
In-app software update no longer fails verification
- Fixed Software Update always showing "The update signature or notarization check failed. Please download manually." The updater called a system tool at the wrong path and relied on developer tools that a normal Mac does not have. The update files themselves were properly notarized.
- The updater now requires the new version to pass Gatekeeper assessment with a notarized Developer ID source, and keeps the existing signature integrity, signer and version checks.
- Versions 0.15.0 and earlier cannot install this fix through the in-app updater. Download 0.15.1 manually from this site once; later versions will then update in the app.
0.15.0 2026-10-16
Redesigned floating gauge, one-screen settings, and new device and keyword cleanup
- The floating gauge has a new Clean style, now the default. Text size follows the size preset instead of scaling the whole layout, and values turn orange or red only past a threshold. The Seven Segment, Rings and Glass styles remain, and a saved style choice is kept.
- Every settings tab now shares one window size, so switching tabs no longer resizes the window, and each page fits on one screen. The Floating Gauge page shows a live preview at actual size.
- New Cleanup section for caches and logs, developer tools, and browser caches. Scan, select, then confirm. Items go to the Trash, except Empty Trash, which is off by default.
- New Keyword cleanup: choose folders or disks and a keyword (for example a _DELETE_ prefix) to find items, then move them to the Trash after you confirm. System locations and paths that go through a symlink are refused.
- New quota threshold alerts: set used-percentage thresholds (50/80/90/95 by default). When a quota window crosses one, the notch expands with the provider, window and reset time.
- New Agent pending list window, with the pending count in the notch and the menu bar. Content on either side of the notch is no longer hidden under the physical notch.
- Quota refresh fixes: picks up updated quota parsing for new Claude CLI, Antigravity and Codex releases. A local cost-scan timeout no longer stops quota updates, and a manual Refresh retries right away.
- Idle agent process scanning dropped from 24.4 ms to 0.24 ms per scan, and the app shrank from 51 MB to 24 MB.
- 0.15.0 is available as an Apple-notarized macOS arm64 download. 0.12.3 users can upgrade directly through the in-app updater.
0.12.3 2026-09-24
Codex quotas are back, and the floating gauge moves on macOS 27
- Updated the Codex usage source to restore usage and weekly quota readings. An unavailable five-hour quota is no longer shown as 0%.
- Fixed Floating Gauge dragging on macOS 27 while retaining position lock and click-through options.
- 0.12.3 is available as an Apple-notarized macOS arm64 download. Existing users can also upgrade through the in-app updater.
0.12.0 2026-08-29
Dashboard roster matches the gauge, All Providers is a single list
- Agent Activity on the Dashboard now follows the same roster as the floating gauge
- All Providers is a single-line list instead of three columns
- Local now shows session tokens
- Opening the Dashboard no longer flashes a scrollbar
- Agy quota is back on auto
0.11.1 2026-08-21
Settings stay dark, and you can always find them again
- The settings window is locked to dark appearance and no longer follows system light mode
- If you uncheck every notch display item and close settings, a gear stays in the notch so you can reopen it
- The floating gauge's context menu can also open settings
- Scheduled lists are searchable, use larger type, and archived jobs can be moved to Trash
- Grok question cards in the notch can be answered; pi option matching is more reliable
- The floating gauge no longer drifts downward when the agent roster grows
0.11.0 2026-08-16
See every provider's usage at once, and size the panel yourself
- Providers gains an All Providers overview — three columns covering every provider you have enabled
- Free-text answers (Pro): reply to an agent's question by typing straight into the notch, without switching back to the terminal
- Panel width is now adjustable, with sliders for column width and row spacing
- Scheduled entries can be renamed and linked to Reminders, and a permanent button legend replaces hover-only tooltips
- Added oMLX as a local model provider
- Terminal windows can be kept on top
- Fixed the Resets column being truncated in narrow windows
- GitHub Copilot is temporarily removed — its usage could not actually be read
0.10.0 2026-07-27
Usage no longer blanks out when a provider hiccups, plus a contribution calendar and cost trend
- When a provider changes its format, the network drops, or credentials expire, the notch keeps the last known good numbers and labels their age (for example "12m ago") instead of showing a line of error text
- New contribution calendar and cost trend charts, switchable between 30 and 90 days
- Settings gains a per-provider daily usage view with summary, heatmap, trend and a day-by-day breakdown
- The floating gauge and menu bar summary now subscribe only to the data they display, and temperature readings are cached — panels and charts are noticeably smoother and lighter on battery
- Software Update is now its own Settings tab
0.9.0 2026-07-24
One-click updates inside the app
- The update banner now has an Install now button — download, verification and install happen in one step
- Every download is checked against its Apple signature and file hash before anything is installed
- Fixes for provider format changes now reach machines that already have VoidNotch installed, with no reinstall
VoidNotch checks for updates on its own. You can also download the latest build from the home page.
